Cruger has been with Ragland, Strother & Lafitte pretty much from the beginning. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1954 with a business degree in real estate and insurance and he has both a CIC and CPCU designation from the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors. Cruger has belonged to numerous professional organizations including the IRA Education Committee, the Texas Fire Protection Standards Committee for the Texas Legislature, the State Board of Insurance (Townhouse Committee) and the Insurance Publishing House, where he served as Director. In addition, Cruger has served as an Aetna OPEC Representative and was the Western Region Spokesman for the Great Performance Executive Council. He has also held several Chairman and President titles within the IIAT, IIAD and CPCU. Cruger’s civic involvement has included roles with Dallas Summer Musicals, State Fair Livestock Auction, Dallas Crime Commission and Central Christian Church where he was Chairman of the Board from 1978 until 1993. He has earned the Distinguished Service Award from IIAD and the Shank Class Award from Central Christian Church.
